How does LPR work with Transient tickets?
When a transient parker enters a gated parking facility equipped with an LPR system, the parker will interact with the entry kiosk per usual (pull a ticket, insert a credit card or mobile number). When the transient ticket is issued, the LPR camera captures the license plate and links the plate data to the issued ticket.
If the ticket is paid before the parker exits (via mobile payments, cashier, fully validated, or a POF), the parker will not be required to supply the transient ticket at the exit. Once the exit camera captures the license plate, the system will recognize the ticket as paid and vend the parker out.
If the transient ticket remains unpaid at the exit, the parker will be required to supply the exit kiosk with their entry ticket to pull up the Payment screen.
How does LPR work with Overnight Self-Park credentials?
Similar to Transient, Overnight parkers are still required to scan their overnight credential at the Entry kiosk each time they enter the garage. At Exit, the LPR system will automatically vend the overnight guest out, as long as the plate linked to the ticket is matched with the plate read at the exit.
How do eParking Reservations and LPR work?
If a customer supplies their License Plate information when purchasing a parking reservation through an eParking provider, the LPR system will automatically vend the parker at entry. Just like all regular LPR functions, it requires the camera capture to match the license plate entered on the reservation.
What happens if a monthly account is created after the parker enters the parking facility?
If a parker enters a gated LPR-equipped facility as a transient parker and a monthly account with the LPR credential is created during their stay, the parker will be able to exit the facility via the LPR system.
When the license plate is entered into the monthly account, the system will search for any transient tickets with the same associated plate number and convert the transient ticket number to a monthly ticket. The transient ticket number is removed from the system and replaced with the monthly license plate info.
