Scan to Pay Available on Google Maps
We’re making it easier than ever to pay for parking directly using Google Maps or Google Search. Select locations that offer Scan to Pay (STP) will now appear in the Google Maps experience, allowing drivers to quickly access a secure checkout flow with no app required.
This update helps increase visibility for our parking partners and gives drivers more flexible, convenient ways to find and pay for parking.
How it Works
Here’s what to expect when using Scan to Pay (STP) through Google Maps:
Search for Parking Start by searching for parking near your destination in Google Maps (on desktop or mobile). | Tap "Book Online" If the location supports Scan to Pay, a “Book Online” button will appear in the Google listing. |
![]() | ![]() |
Redirect to ParkWhiz Tapping the button takes you to a ParkWhiz landing page for that location. It is a webpage experience only and does not require the ParkWhiz app.
| View Rates Drivers can also view current parking rates before arriving. Rates shown reflect pricing at the time of search. |

What Happens Next: Text Message with Parking Link
After entering your phone number, you’ll receive a text message with a link to start your parking session.
Once you arrive at the lot, you can either:
- Tap the link in the text message, or
- Scan the QR code displayed onsite.
Both options take you to the same checkout experience.
App or No App? No Problem.
- If you’ve previously downloaded the ParkWhiz app and are signed in, the link will open in the app with your info pre-filled.
- If you don’t have the app, no worries—it will open in your mobile browser, and you can complete your parking session without needing to download or create an account.
