COUPONS
Flash Coupons offer parking fee discounts and can be applied as a dollar amount, percentage, or time-based reduction. Coupons work with both Flash PARCS and Valet transient tickets, and are applied by scanning a printed barcode or electronically through the Validation portal or Flash Valet iOS app.
Coupons are similar to Flash Validations, but there are a few key differences. See Validations vs. Coupons for more comparison information.
See the How to Create Coupons article for more information.
The Flash system categorizes coupons into two types:
- Coupons (Burnable): These coupons can only be used once and include the following features:
- Generate printable barcodes via the Validation portal.
- Apply electronically through the Flash Valet app by a designated Validator user or Valet dispatcher.
- Offer a combinable setting allowing multiple coupon discounts to be applied to one ticket.
- Non-burnable Coupons: These coupons can be reused indefinitely and include the following features:
- Transient Access Codes: Parkers use a PIN or QR Code at the entry kiosk to receive a discounted rate (PARCS tickets only).
- Apply discounts electronically to tickets through the Validation portal.
- Support Max Use limits and Logical Zone assignments.
- Offer a combinable setting allowing multiple coupon discounts to be applied to one ticket.
Available Coupon Discount Types
- Dollar: Deducts a fixed amount from the fee (e.g., $5 off, $10 off).
- Percentage: Reduces the fee by a set percentage (e.g., 25% off, 50% off).
- Time: Subtracts minutes or hours from the total duration (e.g., 30 minutes off, 1 hour off). This applies only to calculated rates, not flat rates.

Coupon Application Options (Burnable)
Apply Coupon at Exit Kiosk
At the exit kiosk, scanning a transient ticket followed by a printed coupon barcode updates the price and displays the discount in the Discount Validations field. If combinable, multiple coupons can be applied.
Printed Coupon barcodes are generated from the Validation portal which requires a Validation Account to access.
Apply Coupon via Flash Valet iOS App (Validator Users Only)
Validator users with assigned coupons can apply discounts to both Flash PARCS and Valet tickets directly in the Flash Valet iOS app.
Log in to the Flash Valet app with your validator credentials.
Scan the ticket barcode or use the search option to pull up the customer's issued ticket.
Use the coupon selector wheel to apply the appropriate discount.
For valet tickets, the app will also prompt with an option to “Retrieve the customer’s vehicle.” Selecting this sends a notification alert to the valet team to retrieve the vehicle.
Apply Coupon via Flash Valet iOS app (Valet Dispatcher User only)
Valet dispatchers scan the customer-provided coupon barcode on the Confirm Price screen to automatically apply its value during payment. This is compatible with both valet operations and a PARCS cashier.
