Flash Admin Portal: Valid From/Valid To for Rates Scheduling a One-Time Event

SCHEDULING A ONE-TIME EVENT

The Valid From and Valid To fields are used to schedule when a price will become the default rate, typically for one-time events. Once the schedule ends, the system automatically reverts to the previously selected price.

How It Works

The Selected Rate serves as the default price sent to the location's kiosks. If the Valid From and Valid To fields are configured for a specific price, these settings take precedence over the previously selected price and any existing schedules.

  • At the Valid From time, the system automatically updates to the scheduled price.
  • Once the Valid To time expires, the price reverts to the Selected Rate.

The scheduled price remains in the Prices list, allowing it to be reused in the future. To reactivate it, simply check the Selected checkbox or use the Valid From / To fields.

Set Up

  1. Log in to the Admin Portal.
  2. Select the Location.
  3. Navigate to the Ticket Type tab, or the Logical Zone tab (for locations with Logical Zones).
  4. Scroll down to the Linked Flash PARCS Prices section.
  5. Click the price you want to schedule and ensure it is not selected (). If it is selected, the Valid From/To fields will be grayed out. Or add a new price.
  6. Set the desired date and time for the price schedule.
  7. Click Save to apply the changes.

After saving, the scheduled rate will appear as follows:

Before the price change takes effect:

After the price change takes effect:

Enable the “Make Automatic” Setting

For this feature to work, Make Automatic must be enabled either at the Ticket Type level or at the Logical Zone level (for locations with Logical Zones only).

Keep in mind:

  • Make Automatic is disabled whenever a rate is manually selected as the default. To reactivate the Valid From/Valid To fields, you must re-enable Make Automatic after manually selecting a rate.
  • If Make Automatic is enabled during the valid time, the rate change will not take effect. Make Automatic must be enabled before the valid time begins.
  • Once enabled, the Make Automatic setting will appear greyed out.

Deleting or Disabling a Scheduled Rate

To disable a scheduled price that is currently selected, remove the date and time entries from the Valid From and Valid To fields or manually select a new price.

Compatibility

Compatible:

  • Pricing Schedule: The Valid From/Valid To fields override the Pricing Schedule. Once the price reaches the Valid To date and time, the system defaults to the Pricing Schedule automatically.
  • Lost Ticket: You can schedule a Lost Ticket price with the Valid From/Valid To fields.
  • PrePay Prices: Only with PrePay Prices that have a single component.

Not compatible:

  • PrePay Prices: Valid From/Valid to does not work with a prepaid rate with multiple components.
  • Validation Prices: Please do not use the “Valid From/To” fields with validation prices. These fields are for scheduling standard post-pay or prepay prices only - it will set entry kiosks at the location to that price. Please use this feature with caution.

Notes

Different Valid From/Valid To dates can be assigned to the same rate at different Logical Zones. For example, a location with three zones can have three unique schedules for the same rate
