NESTED ENFORCEMENT FOR MONTHLY PARKERS

A nested zone is a reserved area within a larger parking facility that is accessible only to authorized parkers, such as monthly tenants or hotel guests. Monthly Parking Area Enforcement, also known as Nested Enforcement, ensures these parkers use their assigned nested areas rather than general parking. This setup helps preserve availability in high-demand sections and supports smoother traffic flow throughout the facility.

What Is Nested Enforcement?

Nested Enforcement allows parking operators to define rules between different parking zones. These rules encourage monthly parkers to:

  • Enter their assigned area within a specific timeframe.
  • Exit the facility promptly after leaving their assigned area.
  • Avoid loitering in main or unassigned areas.

If a parker violates these rules, one of three enforcement actions can occur:

  1. Violation logged (for reporting only)
  2. Account disabled (access suspended until re-enabled)
  3. Violation fee applied (charged at the exit kiosk)

Monthly accounts with Allow Passback or multiple parks assigned are exempt from penalties.

Enforcement Actions

Reporting Only Violation is logged in the Monthly Account Violations report
Disable Account Monthly parkers' access is suspended after exiting and requires the operator to re-able access.
Late Fee at Kiosk Late fee is presented at the exit kiosk, requiring payment at kiosk to exit.

When Are Penalties Triggered?

Penalties can occur when a parker violates any of the configured triggers:

  • Takes too long to reach their assigned area after entering (In Minutes)
  • Takes too long to exit after leaving their assigned area (Out Minutes)
  • Never enters their assigned area (Dwell Time)

Nested Enforcement Management

Contact support@flashparking.com to enable Nested Enforcement for Monthly Parkers.

After nested enforcement is configured and the Enforcement Types and Penalty Triggers are defined, an Enforcement Type is set on a Profile and then the Profile is enabled on the monthly parker’s account. While multiple Enforcement Types can be configured, only one can be linked to a Profile and applied to a monthly account.
