FLASH PARCS STATE

With the Flash PARCS State feature, you can remotely set the status of the location’s PARCS kiosks to one of the following options:

  • Open: Open to all parkers.
  • Full: Closed to transient parkers; open to monthly, membership, and reservation parkers. (Kiosk screen displays Full.)
    • Note: Transient Access Codes cannot enter the garage.
  • Closed: Closed to transient parkers; open to monthly, membership, and reservation parkers. (Kiosk screen displays Closed.)
    • Note: Transient Access Codes and monthly PIN cannot enter the garage.
  • Closed to All: Closed to all parkers: No entry is permitted regardless of credential, ticket, or access method. No exceptions.

Changing the kiosk status makes the job of managing a parking lot or garage easier. You can open or close an entire facility, logical zone or a kiosk with a single click.

Flash PARCS State Availability

You can change the Flash PARCS State setting through the Admin Portal and also on the Flash Valet app.

Flash PARCS state in the Admin Portal

Location Level

You can easily change the Flash PARCS State of an entire location on the Admin Portal. The Flash PARCS State option is presented at the top of the Location Details page, it’s the first thing you see as soon as you select a location. To change between states, you just need to click on any of the Open, Full, Closed or Closed to All buttons.

It’s also accessible by logging in to the Flash Valet app. You can find the Flash PARCS State option by tapping on the Flash PARCS tab. If the location offers Flash Valet and Flash PARCS, you would need to navigate to Control > Flash PARCS. Tap on the buttons to changes between states.

Logical Zone Level

Just like the location-level settings, you can change the Flash PARCS State for all the kiosks under a Logical Zone at a time. This way, you can open or close certain lanes without affecting the rest.

In the Admin Portal, you can select the Logical Zones tab, click on the desired Logical Zone, then select the Flash PARCS State you wish to apply.

In the app, once you are on the Flash PARCS screen, scroll down to the Logical Zones section and tap on the blue "i" (information icon) next to the Logical Zone you want to select. The app will then show the Flash PARCS State for that particular Logical Zone.

Kiosk Level

If you are looking to change the Flash PARCS State of a single kiosk, you can do so as well. This option is currently only available in the Admin Portal.

It’s useful for those cases where maintenance is being done in a lane, or any other situation in which you want to close just one lane instead of the whole facility.

In order to change the Flash PARCS State of a single kiosk, you need to click on the Flash PARCS tab in the portal, select a kiosk and then click on the desired Flash PARCS State.

At kiosk level, you will be presented with these options:

  • Default: Equals to the location’s current state.
  • Closed: Closed to transient parkers, open to monthlies (kiosk says Closed).
  • Closed to All: Closed to all parkers.

Notes

There are certain scenarios in which the Kiosk State will override the Location State, there are other times where the Location State will override the Kiosk State:

  • If a Kiosk State is Closed and then the Location State is set to Closed To All, the kiosk changes to Closed to All.
  • If a Kiosk State is set to Closed and the Location State is not Closed To All, the kiosk is Closed.
  • Otherwise the Kiosk goes by the Location State.

In other words, if you set a kiosk to Closed to All, the only way to change it back is by changing the Flash PARCS State on that kiosk. Changing the Flash PARCS State on the Location level does not override this state.

If a Location is set to Closed to All, and, you set a kiosk to Closed, the kiosk will get the Closed To All state from the location’s Flash PARCS State.
