DRIVE CUSTOMERS TO USE EXPRESS PAY

Proactive SMS Messages

At Parkonect locations, drivers who have previously used Express Pay (at least two previous times) may receive a welcome text message shortly after entering the facility based on license plate recognition. This message includes a direct link to quickly start an Express Pay session.

How It Works

Proactive SMS messages are sent to returning drivers who have used Express Pay before but did not enroll their vehicle in Express Pay.

When a driver uses Express Pay for the first time:

  • Their license plate and phone number are saved.
  • If they do not enroll in Express Pay, future visits will not automatically start a new Express Pay session.

On a future visit, the system can recognize the driver’s license plate at entry and send a welcome SMS message to the phone number previously used with Express Pay. The message includes a link that allows the driver to quickly start their parking session.

Why This Helps

Proactive messages make it easier for returning drivers to use Express Pay again by:

  • Providing a direct payment link
  • Reducing the need to scan QR codes.
  • Encouraging repeat use of Express Pay

Mobile Number Entry at the Kiosk

Both Parkonect and Flash PARCS entry kiosks support Mobile Number Entry, which allows drivers to receive an Express Pay payment link by text message.

With this option, drivers can enter their mobile phone number directly on the kiosk screen when they arrive.

How It Works

  1. At the entry kiosk, the driver selects the mobile number entry option.
  2. The driver enters their 10-digit phone number using the on-screen keypad.
  3. The system sends an SMS message with a welcome message and a payment link.
  4. The driver can tap the link to view the ticket QR code and tap Pay Here to start their Express Pay session.

Mobile Number Entry works with both Express Pay and (DTC) payment flows.

Why This Helps

Mobile Number Entry provides another simple way for drivers to access Express Pay, especially when they do not scan the ticket QR code or see signage.

Encouraging drivers to use Express Pay creates a faster and more seamless parking experience.

As more drivers adopt Express Pay:

  • Entry lanes move faster
  • Exit queues are reduced
  • Drivers spend less time at kiosks

The result is a smoother parking operation and a better overall experience for both operators and customers.
