Scenario
"I already purchased a parking reservation, but am being prompted for payment at exit"
What Likely Happened
- The reservation holder is enrolled in Express Pay and did not add a license plate to the reservation or entered it incorrectly.
- An Express Pay session was started because the vehicle entered the facility prior to the scheduled reservation start time.
- The reservation holder is exiting the facility after the reservation has ended.
The following guidance is for Flash PARCS locations only.Immediate Operator Guidance
- If the driver wrongfully started an Express Pay session, instruct them to cancel it using the following guide:
Express Pay Session Cancellation - After the session is canceled, if the reservation is still within its scheduled time, instruct the driver to scan the reservation QR code as a chaser at exit. This should vend the gate.
Driver Confirmation Kiosk Setting
Prompts enrolled Express Pay drivers before automatically starting an Express Pay session, allowing them to select another available entry method.
The Driver Confirmation screen is triggered when the location has multiple entry methods configured, such as reservations, memberships, Hotel Prepay, Valet PIN, PMS integrations, loyalty programs, or Check-in/Check-out programs.
The Driver Confirmation setting is the most direct operator-side control for preventing an Express Pay session from starting automatically.
Payment Confirmation
Payment Confirmation is a restricted Express Pay setting that keeps the exit gate closed until payment is successfully verified.
This setting applies only to select locations and drivers. If payment fails, the driver is presented with an error message and prompted to proceed to payment. After selecting Proceed to Payment, the driver is shown the Payment Summary, and payment is collected at the exit kiosk.
