SETTINGS

You can change the settings of your reservation system using the same cloud-based software you use to manage your garage. Our solution allows you to post public or private parking products, display parking products in different areas of the site, and edit garage information with ease. In this chapter, we will review two edit categories: System Settings and Info Box Settings.




System Settings

To change your reservation engine settings, go to secure.parkonect.com and enter your login information. From the Garages menu, select the Reservation Engine tab (see Figure 4.1).

The following options in the main Reservation Engine section of the Reservation Engine tab control certain settings on your
reservation system:

  • Prompt For Additional Email At Checkout: This controls whether the system prompts users for an additional email to
    receive credentials. We highly suggest you keep this activated, as it allows parkers to send receipts to multiple users.
  • Show Multi-Day On Specials Page: This allows you to display multi-day passes as a separate class of product. When
    toggled, you may purchase multi-day passes from the Specials page. When not toggled, these passes will not display.
  • Show Event Link: When toggled, a link to the Event Parking page will display under Parking Rate.
  • Show Event Search Bar: Toggle this to show or hide the Event Keywords search bar on the Event Parking page.
  • Show Special Search Bar: Toggle this to show or hide the Special Keywords search bar on the Specials page.
  • Require Exact Match On Event Search: When toggled, wildcard searches will be disabled on the Event Keywords search bar. When not toggled, they will be enabled. Use this to restrict the visibility of private events: show the search bar, but do not enable wildcard searches. This will require customers will be required to enter a unique name to see the event. Alternatively, set these options as described and distribute direct links to your event for even more privacy.
  • Show Special Link: Use this to turn parking product tabs on or off. When toggled, a link to the Specials page will display under Parking Rate on the Anytime Parking page. When not toggled, this link will disappear.
  • Show Multi-Day Link: Toggle this to show or hide a link to multi-day passes on the Anytime Parking page.



Info Box Settings

The following settings on the Info Box Settings section of the Reservation Engine tab (see Figure 4.1 on the previous page), third
from the top, control certain settings on your reservation system:

  • Add Logo: This will change your logo from the image included with the pre-built reservation system to another image of your choice. Please take care to ensure the header image is 960 x 166 pixels at 72 ppi.
  • Picture Of Locations: Upload new pictures for the Photos section of your reservation system here. Sizing is automatic.
  • How To Find Garage: Enter basic location information here. This also appears on receipts.
  • Parking Location Description: This text will display prominently on the Anytime Parking page near the Parking Rate. Use this for a general description of your location.
  • Parking Instructions: This text will display in the Instructions section of your reservation system. It is also helpful to
    include a basic set of instructions for scanning passes (i.e. “Hold QR code a few inches from the scanner and follow the
    instructions on the screen.”). This also appears on receipts.
  • Terms Of Use: This text will display on the Terms Of Use section of your website. Use this for a list of rules and regulations for using a reservation purchased through your system. This also appears on receipts.
  • Amenities: This text will display in the Amenities section of your reservation system. It is also helpful to include a generic description of businesses near your location (i.e. “Fitness club, frozen yogurt, printing, and shipping center.”).
