POST PARKING

It’s easy to post new specials, multi-day passes, events, and other products on your custom website. There are five different types of parking products you can post:

  • Internet Special: For morning, evening, and other recurring specials offered at specific times and days of the week.
  • Multi-Day Pass: For parking passes that last multiple days. These are nearly the same as an Internet Special, but last more than 48 hours (beyond a “next day” rate carryover).
  • Event: For new events and associated parking specials. These are non-recurring, calendar date-specific products.
  • Block Parking: For selling parkers a block of anytime minutes that are not tied to any day of the week and are valid for a
defined window on the calendar. These may also be used on multiple visits to your garage.
  • Stated Internet Rate: Establishes the maximum quantity of Anytime Parking reservations that may be sold.

Getting Started

To post new parking products and review your current specials, you must navigate to the Post Parking module (see Figure 2.1). Go to secure.parkonect.com and enter your login information. From the Garages menu, select your garage and click Modules. Select the Post Parking module.

  • Review your current specials, sorted by Name, Type, Status, Internet Price, In Time, Out Time, Next Day, and Event Date.
  • Edit your existing specials as needed.
  • To post new parking products, click Add Special / Post Parking.

Internet Special

To sell specials on your reservation system that are tied to specific times of day and days of the week, navigate to the Post Parking menu (instructions can be found in the Getting Started section of this chapter) and create an Internet Special (see Figure 2.2).

FIGURE 2.2: INTERNET SPECIAL

Enter a title and description. Check Active, or use this feature to prepare parking products ahead of time, making them visible and available with one click. Then, fill or toggle the following fields:

  • Commence In Time: When parkers may begin to arrive.
  • End In Time: The end of the window for parkers to arrive.
  • Out By Time: Parkers must leave by this time.
  • Next Day Flag: Toggle to set the Out By Time to the next day when creating a special that lasts overnight.
  • In/Out Privileges: Toggle to allow in/out privileges.
  • Internet Price: Set the price of your special.
  • Commission / Fees: Reserve a portion of the price for a commission, defined as a percentage or a flat fee.
  • Net Remit: The Internet price less any commissions or fees.
  • Max Available: Limit the number of specials you sell.
  • Start Selling Date: When to start selling your special.
  • End Selling Date: When to stop selling your special. This is not an expiration date.
  • Day Of The Week: Choose which days of the week parkers may use your reservation. This defines valid start dates for individual reservations; unless you toggle Next Day Flag, a reservation’s end date is the same as its start date. This does not restrict sales.

When you are finished, click Post Parking.

Multi-Day Pass

FIGURE 2.3: MULTI-DAY PASS

To sell specials on your reservation system that allow parking over multiple days, create a Multi-Day Pass (see Figure 2.3).

Enter a title and description. Check Active, or use this feature to prepare parking products ahead of time, making them visible and available with one click. Then, fill or toggle the following fields:

  • Commence In Time: When parkers may begin to arrive.
  • Out By Time: Parkers must leave by this time.
  • Number Of Days: Parkers must leave by this time.
This is not an expiration date
  • Day Of The Week: Choose the days of the week on which your special may first be used (e.g. checking Thursday through Sunday will allow passes for Sunday through Tuesday). Much like a hotel reservation, checking in midday and departing the next evening counts as one day. This does not restrict sales.

When you are finished, click Post Parking.

Event

FIGURE 2.4: EVENT PARKING

To sell parking on your reservation system for a special event with a precise date and time, create an Event (see Figure 2.4).

Enter a title and description. Upload an event picture (must be 180 x 180 pixels at 72 ppi). This will display next to your event on your reservation system. Check Active, and use this feature to prepare parking products ahead of time, making them visible and available with one click. Then, fill or toggle the following fields:

  • Commence In Time: When parkers may begin arriving.
  • End Date: Choose when your event ends.
  • Out By Time: Parkers must leave by this time on the end date.

When you are finished, click Post Parking.

Block Parking

FIGURE 2.5: BLOCK PARKING

To sell blocks of anytime minutes on your reservation system that are not tied to any day of the week, are valid during a defined
window on the calendar, and may be used on multiple visits to your garage, create Block Parking (see Figure 2.5).

Enter a title and description. Check Active. Then, fill or toggle the following fields:

  • Start Date: When parkers may begin using minutes. This operates as an activation period: upon leaving the garage, the number of minutes used will be deducted from the block. If more minutes remain, they may be used later. If a reservation lasts longer than the number of minutes remaining in the block, the parker will be charged the difference.
  • End Date: When your blocks of minutes expire.
  • Block Minutes: The number of minutes purchased with the reservation. Overages and early entry fees not covered by grace periods will be billed separately.

When you are finished, click Post Parking.
