MONTHLY FLEX PASS MODULE

Parking trends have changed over the past few years and instead of the traditional 5-day work week, commuters prefer a more flexible parking option. Parkonect now offers the Monthly Flex Pass to meet this market demand. The Monthly Flex Pass is set to be used a defined number of times within a calendar month and can be sold to customers at a lower rate. The payment for the Flex Pass is handled externally from the Parkonect system.

The Monthly Flex Pass is paid module. Please contact sales@flashparking.com to update your contract and enable the Monthly Flex Pass module for your location.

Flex Pass Usage

Overages

When Flex Pass holder overstays beyond their Uses on the account, the system calculates the balance due based on the rate stamped at entry. If the account has a valid Use balance and overstays past the cut-off time, an additional Use will be deducted.

Examples

  • The use period is defined to start at 4 am. I have 1 use in my account, and I enter at 5 am and get to the exit at 6 am the next day. 1 use is used and that is completed at 4 am. A 2-hour amount is due from 4 am to 6 am and should be collected at the exit based on the rate stamped at entry.

  • The use period is defined to start at 5 am. I have 2 uses in my account and I enter at 4 am and get to the exit at 6 am the next day.  2 uses are used, and no balance is due.

  • The use period is defined as upon entry time. I have 1 use in my account and I enter at 5 am and get to the exit at 6 am the next day.  1 use is used and that is completed at 5 am. A 1-hour amount is due for the 5 am to 6 am overage.

Calendar Month Calculations

Flex Pass Uses must be used within a calendar month, unused Uses will NOT roll over to the next month. Rollovers mid-stay will also not work, the Use balance will be deducted based on the days and the available balance upon entry.

Examples

Parker 1 (10 Monthly Uses): Enters the garage with 10 Uses on balance, and exits 4 days later now in the next calendar month. 3 Uses will be deducted for Dec and 2 Uses deducted for Jan. Parker will have a balance of 8 uses after exiting Feb 2nd, the unused Dec uses will not roll over to the next month's balance.

Parker 2 (1 Monthly Use): Enters the garage with only 1 use on balance, and exits 4 days later now in the next calendar month. 1 Use will be deducted for Jan and 1 use deducted for Feb. They are required to pay the transient rate for the 2-day overage, and will have a balance of 0 uses for Feb.

If a parker with an overage at exit leaves with out payment, the system will allow re-entry.

Denied Use

If a parker attempts to enter the garage when they have no “uses” left, the system will read:

On Towers → “Access Denied”

On Gen 2 → "Access Denied, Please Pull a Ticket"
