INSTALL SQUARE TERMINAL

This is an instructional guide on how to install Square Terminals on the Ultra POS.

Let’s get your Square Terminal up and running!

  1. Before installing the Square Terminal, disconnect any existing card terminals (e.g. Clover, Pax) from the Ultra POS
  2. Open your Square Terminal box which includes a:
    • Square Terminal
    • Getting started guide
    • Receipt paper
    • A power adapter, the power adapter cable
    • Hub for Square Terminal



  1. Connect the power adapter and cable to the accessory hub.  Then plug the power adapter into the power outlet. 
  2. Hold the power button for about three seconds to turn Square Terminal on. 
  3. Tap the blue Get Started button, read and accept the Terms of Use
  4. To connect to the internet:
    • For a wired connection, simply plug your ethernet cable into your accessory hub.
    • For wireless connection (Wi-Fi) select your Wi-Fi network from the Square Terminal. Enter your password, and Join.
  5. Update the square terminal to the latest version:
    1. Swipe from the left side of the screen to open the navigation menu.
    2. Select Settings
    3. Select General
    4. Select About Terminal. If there are any pending software updates, update the Square Terminal to the latest version.
  6. Follow these instructions to Sign in on the Square Terminal.
    • In order to sign into the Terminal, you must grab your device code from the Ultra POS application and enter it on the Square Terminal
      1. Click Next located in the bottom right-hand corner
      2. Select Activate Square Provider




3. Select Yes

4. The POS will automatically restart

5. Select Pair Device

6. Select Get New Code








7. On the Square Terminal sign-in Page, choose the "Use a Device Code" button. Enter the device code that shows on the POS application and click "Sign In" on the right top corner





8. On the Ultra POS, select "Accept Code"






9. Square Terminal screen will show Powered by Square which will confirm that the setup was completed and your square terminal is now ready to be used. 




FAQs

How do you sign out of Square Terminal paired mode and pair with another POS device?

  1. If you want to pair your Square Terminal with another POS, you will have to sign out of the terminal. 
  2. Swipe from the left side of the screen to open the navigation menu.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Sign Out at the bottom of the menu.

How do you update your square terminal?

  1. Swipe from the left side of the screen to open the navigation menu.
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select General
  4. Select About Terminal. If there are any pending software updates, update the Square Terminal to the latest version.
