VALIDATE TICKET
Flash Valet offers multiple ways to validate tickets. Validator Accounts are required to process validation, please see the Validation Account Creation article for setup instructions. Validators have the option to log into the Validation portal to validate a ticket or print validation barcodes, use the Flash Valet app to validate or utilize the SMS validation code system.
To enable the Validation Module contact support@flashparking.com.

SMS Validation
Once you set up an SMS validator and a validation code, you can validate tickets with SMS. Use the sections below to help you set up and validate with SMS.
Set up an SMS validator
1. Go to https://portal.flashvalet.com and log in to the Admin Portal.
2. Select the Locations tab on the left menu and choose a location.
3. Select the Validators tab from the top menu and choose an existing Validator, or click Add New to create a new Validator.
4. Add the Validator's mobile phone number in their validation account to authorize them to provide an SMS validation.
Set up a Validation Code
1. Go to https://portal.flashvalet.com and log in to the Admin Portal.
2. Select the Locations tab on the left menu and choose a location.
3. Select the Prices tab from the top menu and choose an existing Price.
4. In the Validation Code field, enter a short code.
5. Click Save.
Validate SMS Process
1. Use a device linked to the mobile phone number in the Validator Account to open a text messaging application.
2. Draft a text message to the Location's dedicated phone number using the syntax format: [validation code] (space) [ticket number]. The dedicated phone number is the same phone number used for the vehicle request feature by customers.
Example: 2off 864
3. Wait for Flash Valet to text back a confirmation. The Validation price automatically populates on the Confirm Price screen in the Flash Valet App.
Printed Validation Barcodes
Printed Validation barcodes can be scanned with the camera to validate a ticket.
When pulling the ticket, select Paid.
As soon as the price wheel appears, press the blue Camera Icon on the top right corner of the app.
Scan the validation barcode, which will be successfully applied when you press the Next button at the top right corner.
Validation Price configuration
We recommend marking validation prices as ‘Hidden’ in the Admin Portal. Hidden prices will not show on the price wheel in Flash Valet and are only accessible via the Validations Portal, SMS, or in printed format.
If the validation price is not hidden and is selected in the price wheel, then this is considered a Manual Validation. These types of validations are only shown in the Validation Detail report.
To hide a validation price, click on the Prices tab in the Admin Portal, and ensure the ticket price is marked as Hidden in the selected price’s Ticket Types section.
When generating a validation report, such as the eValidation And Coupon Detail By Date Dept And Validator report, tickets validated with the validation portal, SMS, or printed validations will show here.
Whereas, if a validation price is selected directly from the price wheel when pulling the ticket, the validation will be counted as manual validation; these validations and others are listed in the Validation Detail or Discount Detail report.
